This past weekend Shane had four days off! We escaped to Atlanta and the Blue Ridge Mountains for two nights, and had a great weekend. Friday we went to the Georgia Aquarium, which Shane had really wanted to go to ever since we moved here. It is the worlds largest aquarium, and very cool. Saturday we headed north to the mountains (with a pit stop at the outlet mall!), and drove and drove and drove and drove. It was beautiful, and we had so much fun together just driving, and seeing all the orchards, wineries, and views. Since we took his truck we ventured down a 25 mile dirt road up a mountain, and had some amazing views. None of our pictures turned out that great, but take my word for it, the colors and weather was beautiful.
This was one of the whale sharks that was HUGE!
Yes, we both touched these sting rays. They were soft and gushy, not what I was expecting!
King Crabs, these were HUGE! You can't tell by the picture, but they are roughly the size of a basketball.
In front of one of the tropical fish tanks. I wish you could see how bright purple, yellow, orange and green some of them were.
Since we were up so high it was a little hazy, but you really could see forever. I followed our elevation on the GPS, and we went up to 3,300 ft. Our house is at 300 ft.
Our last stop Saturday night for some amazing Mexican food! We were so excited to find something familiar and delicious, since Mexican food is hard to come by here.
These posts were great. We would like many more like these. And just writing without pictures is fine also. Love, Mom
