32 Weeks!

Week 32:
How much weight gained: 2lbs this week, 6lbs overall.
Latest food craving: Fruit fruit and more fruit!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing particular.  Public bathrooms and eggs as usual.
Mostly happy or moody: Happy
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Worst Thing about being pregnant this week: Being away from Shane for so long = no back massages.
Best Thing about being pregnant this week:  Feeling Matthew's hiccups for the first time!  So sweet.
Update from within:  We celebrated July 4th this past week, which meant dad had some extra time off.  Extra family time was nice since Dad soon had to leave for gunnery for 2 weeks.  My parents try to think of things to do to prepare for me, but sometimes don't know where to start.  Things in my room are more organized, and coming together.  Mom has been feeling better for the most part, just less energy than normal.  Everyone says that is to be expected though!  She and dad even went running together this week.  Although mom could barely walk towards the end, she loved exercising again, just wasn't used to me bouncing around with her!  Sadly, daddy left for a long time this week, I know mom misses him, but the good news is that mom and I flew to Texas while he is away.  Aunt Kristin, Katie & Laura hosted a baby shower for mom that was all about me!  Everyone talked about our new little family, and we had a great time catching up with friends and family.  They showered our family with lots of toys, clothes, and things for my upcoming arrival! Thank you sweet friends!  It's good to be back in the Lone Star State, I think I'll call Texas my home.

Around our house

I had quite a few random pictures of things around our house and/or projects I'm working on.  So I thought I'd give you a little more detailed peek into our home.

I made a few burlap rosettes to spruce up some candles around the house.
This picture doesn't show it well but I may or may not have spray painted last fall's acorns blue and filled a vase in the bathroom.  Call me crazy, but I like how it turned out!
I find this handsome man curled up on the couch sometimes during his lunch break.  I guess getting up at 5am every morning would wear you out.
These are the colors of Matthew's room.  Teal & Green.  Above- I spray painted (are you catching onto my latest obsession?) some old shelves, and a 75 cent picture frame for the nursery.
Shane later regretted writing his name on the test patch. I think it took 3 total coats of paint to cover it!
One morning I got a little carried away and made cinnamon scones for no apparent reason.  We sure enjoyed them though!
One of my favorite spots in our house.  Our antique rocking chair that is anxiously awaiting a sweet little boy to rock, and our newly framed diplomas.
Another picture of my sweet soldier husband.  Do you think that ruck is full enough?  We said goodbye for 2+ weeks this morning so he can do some Bradley gunnery training.

Our Home - Kansas Version

Enjoy a brief tour of our little home in Kansas.  We were blessed to get another historic home (quadraplex) on post that is two stories, two bedrooms, three bathrooms, with a large basement.  Pardon pictures where things are not perfectly placed, clean, or set up.  I'm beginning to realize our home is a constant work in progress.  Although as of last week I believe we have officially hung everything on the walls (I despise hanging things on the wall, and deliberate for weeks on where to place each item, ugh!).  The only room you won't see is Matthew's nursery (also the guest bedroom), it is still coming together, expect a special post about that next month.
The front of our house.
The kitchen is the first room you come into when you walk in the door.
Technically, I believe our back door is the true front door because there is a small entry way and half bath by it, but it is really our back door.
We enjoy a little more space in the kitchen than our last home, although there is always a need for more cabinets/counter space!
The next room you will come to is our dinning room [and office].  It is large enough for our table, a few extra chairs, and desk.
Though our living room is a bit smaller and differently shaped we managed to make our furniture fit just fine.  We love spending most of our time in this room.
Standing near the back door, the stairs are to the left and the half bathroom is straight ahead (somehome I missed a picture of the half bath downstairs).
This is the view out our back door.  Called the "courtyard" side of the houses.
A look at the back of our house.  Although this was several months ago when as you can see Shane was working in the yard.  We now have beautiful landscaping that is growing like crazy!
Once upstairs you will find the guest bathroom [and only true full bath in our home].  Quite narrow, but it works!
Our master bedroom.
The [tiny] 3/4 master bathroom.  Behind the door to the right is our shower stall.  Though neither of us have ever used it!

Stay tuned for more odds and ends of our new-to-us home coming soon.

30 Weeks!

Week 30:
How much weight gained: 1lb this week, 4lbs overall
Latest food craving: Always fruit & ice cream!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Different things like lasagna casserole, my beloved fruit, and scrambled eggs.
Mostly happy or moody: Happy
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Worst Thing about being pregnant this week: Throwing up beside the road…

Best Thing about being pregnant this week:  Watching our son react to Shane touching or laying on my belly
Update from within:  Mom and dad appeared to be fairly productive in the parenthood department these past two weeks.  I have started accumulating some important things like diapers and wipes.  They finally decided on the final arrangement of my room (not that I was concerned with this, but my mom was…), and dad painted part of my nursery green!  Thanks dad, I know that wasn’t your first choice for your Saturday activity.  I also had another Dr. appointment at Irwin (where I’ll be born!) this week, and both mom and dad thought it went better than the past ones in Kansas.  They felt more comfortable with this doctor, and are confident mom and I will get good care during my delivery.  My sweet (and anxious) parents are also officially signed up for childbirth classes in August.  Most people tell my mom they can’t even tell she is pregnant (which kind of upsets her fyi!), but I constantly remind her I’m around with nausea, vomiting, or some crazy movement in her belly.  Her back still hurts quite a bit also, but she’s a trooper, and is just adjusting.  They say my brain is developing more now, so mom has turned into somewhat of a health nut to ensure I’m as smart as possible.  If its not avocados, lettuce, or green beans, she’s eating tons of fruit, no worries though she still enjoys her sweets!
