It's finally time for a tour of Matthew's nursery (and our guest bedroom). Since I am officially full-term now, I decided it was time to kick it into gear and get all of those last minute projects done. The picture above shows his precious dark-wood crib that we bought used, while still in Georgia. All major projects are finished, room ready, and decorated!
The frame hanging on his door. This was a .75 frame I spray painted, and then just kept adding detail until I liked it.
Shane actually helped me make this cute bunting for above the windows in his room. It was a lot easier than I had planned.
I've had this vision for a mobile in my head (thank you pinterest) for a long time, but was scared to try it. When my mom found this mobile on clearance for $1 at TJMaxx, I couldn't resist at least attempting. Surprisingly it was a lot easier than I thought, a little spray paint, some fabric scraps, and hot glue (yes, I was lazy and didn't want to get my sewing machine out...), and viola! I should have taken before and after pictures; it was originally bright yellow, with farm animals dangling.
I wanted to incorporate more scriptures in his room, and this was what I came up with. Simple, but perfect for the wall. I did learn how to download new, fun, free fonts online through this process!
The changing table we found at the on-post thrift store here in Kansas. If you didn't know any better, you'd think it matches the crib.
My sister and her husband made this neat sign for his room. It was an old window they repurposed to describe what is to come with our little boy!
The guest bed, and ship painting. Yes, those are our fully packed bags, ready to go!
Some of the burp cloths we made with scrap fabric from other projects.
One of my favorites! Matthew's blanky! I really wanted to make him something special, and couldn't get this idea out of my head. So, after searching for the perfect fabric everywhere I finally had to order these two online. Maybe not the most economical decision, but I ended up using the fabric for several other projects in his room, so it's justified! Also, when I end up making him a thicker blanket or quilt, I will use this fabric.
