Matthew's 1st Birthday Celebrations!

Matthew enjoyed several different birthday celebrations this year.  After all surviving that first year (both him and us) is quite a big deal, so it was only fitting for lots of celebrations! While Shane was in the field Matthew and I flew to Texas to spend a week celebrating with my family.  Then when Shane got home we had a birthday party in Kansas with some close friends.  All the while, Matthew continues to amaze us, and we cannot believe our little boy is one year old already!  Time has flown since this time last year when Matthew made his debut.

Matthew's first time playing in the play place at Chick-fil-a with his cousins
Lots of playtime and fun on his actually birthday!
Matthew and I were able to go to the Texas A&M vs. Alabama football game while in town.  What a great birthday treat from Grammy & Pawpaw!
Waking up on his actual birthday!
Pawpaw made me waffles for my birthday breakfast, and I LOVED them!
Trying on a few of my birthday presents!
Trying to take pictures with all the cousins is a little challenging lately, but they were all so cute in their Aggie gear.
So much fun at the Aggie football game!
Matthew's first cupcake on his actual birthday.
Cate and Emma enjoyed celebrating their favorite cousin "baby Matthew"

Yummy!
Snuggling with Aunt Kristin after a tiring birthday!

Some decorations for his party, although I tried to keep it low-key since I'm sure he won't remember his 1st birthday party.

All his friends enjoyed playing with balls, balloons, and eating different (round/ball themed) yummy snacks!

Our family together for Matthew's 1st Birthday Party
Playing in his new ball-pit!
Matthew even got to celebrate the week before with his friend (my best friend's daughter) Emma who came to visit us in Kansas!

We cannot believe our sweet baby boy is already one year old!  He truly is the best "baby" anyone could ask for.  He sleeps near perfectly, and rarely fusses unless he is hungry or tired; although he is gaining more independence and expressing his opinions more lately!  Shane and I often find ourselves laughing, smiling and just watching our active little man who is learning so much these days.  We truly cannot imagine our lives without Matthew, and his sweet entergetic skinny self.  I am reminded of  Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you, "declares the Lord," plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  God's plans are so much greater than anything we can imagine, and I am beyond thankful His plans included blessing us with Matthew Allen one year ago!
