We've been MIA for a while now, I apologize. To say we've had a lot going on is quite the understatement. Although everything with moving to Ft. Riley, went better than I could have imagined, it was still a large feat for barely a week. The packers showed up at Ft. Benning in Georgia on Tuesday, and did a wonderful job packing all of our house hold goods (HHGs). See the above picture for how detailed they labeled boxes, an organized mama's dream come true, and a big change from our last packers chicken scratch. Wednesday the loading guys showed up and had all of our HHGs loaded and ready to drive away in less than two hours. Thursday we made a quick trip to Atlanta to pick up my wonderful parents, showed my dad around town, and finished cleaning our empty house. Friday morning we had our house inspection, weighed our vehicles, said adios to Georgia, and hit the road.
Our chaotic and crowded living room during packing
In the process of moving, packing, and loading on Wednesday night we finally got a great deal on a crib! Just in time for the moving company to move it to Kansas.
Saturday morning heading out from Tennessee. Mom and Dad were kind enough to drive my car all three days to Kansas!
On the road again...
The view of Mom & Dad in my car behind us, plants, and snacks included. Both cars were pretty full!
Saturday night we met some good friends in St. Louis who showed us downtown and the great Arch!

Finally in Manhattan, Kansas Sunday night!
Hotel living at its finest. Salad and crockpot chicken tacos one night in the hotel.
We arrived in Manhattan, Kansas Sunday night. Monday Shane in processed, while my mom and I headed to the housing office on post. Knowing we were 34 out of 36 on the waiting list for our category of houses, I didn't have much hope at all. Though God definitely had different plans, and gave us the one house that was available at the time. 34th on the list to 1st in a matter of minutes, patience, prayers and persistence truly paid off. Tuesday morning we all go to see the house, after some thought and compromising Tuesday afternoon Shane and I headed to sign the papers for our new-to-us historic home on post at Ft. Riley! Wednesday morning bright and early our truck arrived from Georgia, and all of our HHGs were delievered. What a week!
Mom helping unpack boxes in the new house!
The moving van with all of our HHGs!
Dinner Wednesday night in the new house. Thank you mom and dad for your tremendous help directing traffic, checking off boxes, and keeping up with some special un-loaders, while Shane was gone in processing all day. I couldn't have done it alone.
Shane unpacking dishes in the new kitchen. We have enough packing paper to fill up our entire house!
This concludes my moving post, stay tuned for pictures of the new house...eventually!
