Week 4: Mom and Dad found out I was around, and were very surprised, shocked and then later very excited about my future arrival. Lots of happy and scared tears were shed because Daddy was leaving for Ranger School in two days. Mommy knew that God is good all the time, and He would take care of her, but it was still really hard on both my parents.
Week 6: A lot has happened this week, its hard to keep track of my parents. They have both been sick lately, which isn’t much fun. I am the size of a blueberry, which they seem to think is cool. Their first major outing to run some errands with me around was to the mall this week. Mommy did not fare well in the public bathrooms at the mall, or walking through the food court. Daddy says her nose is better than a bloodhound, and I think he’s right. She smells everything! Mommy has lost over 5lbs because of me, and she was sad when she had to stop wearing her Aggie ring for fear she’d lose it. Mommy misses enjoying food, now she only eats because daddy makes her, thanks Dad! Daddy misses mommy cooking real meals, with meat in them, they’ve been a little sparse lately, I feel bad for my sweet dad.
Week 7: Mom is still sick, but went to the Dr. this week. They said because I am so tiny, she couldn’t have any real medicine, which made her really sad. She spent a lot of time on the couch this week not feeling well. I think she also had her first real exposure to nausea this week. Mommy doesn’t like to eat very much, but when she doesn’t eat she gets sick. Clementine’s, apples, pecans, V8 (mango peach), and candy have been her saving grace this week. Dad has been a huge help around the house lately. He’s done laundry, cleaning and cooking to help mommy out, I already think my dad is pretty awesome.
Week 8: We started out this week going for my first nurse consultation appt. We didn’t really learn anything, but my parents were excited to talk about me! Mom and dad also officially found out that I do not like peanut butter (mom couldn’t keep down her sandwich today), hopefully I will like it again in a few months because I know mom really liked it before I was around. This week mom also had her first really bad day of nausea, vomiting all day, it was rough. Her Dr. called in some Zofran, which she says is a miracle drug. Dad works most days from 9-4pm , while mom and I stay at home and rest (she needs a LOT with me around lately!).
Week 9: My parents have been waiting for this week for what seems like an eternity. Mom got to SEE me for the first time this week during my first ultrasound, they told her I was healthy and had a good heartbeat. I measured at 9 weeks, 1 day old, go me! Thursday was their first official Dr. appointment, the Dr. seemed to think everything was going smoothly! My parents also decided it was time to let the big secret out about me, and officially told the world I’m around. So many people already love me and are praying for me, I’m excited to meet them all in September. I have been growing a lot lately, and am about the size of a prune now, although mom couldn’t imagine eating those! She prefers graham crackers, clementine’s, strawberries, cheetos, and jello.
Week 10: My parents started out the week hiking Stone Mountain in Atlanta . Poor mom felt out of shape, and out of breath but did a good job carrying me to the top. Dad held her hand the whole way. It was fun for all of us. Big news this week, mom had a peanut butter sandwich and almost inhaled it! A huge step in our household if you know my peanut butter loving parents! Though nausea comes and goes, it seems like it is less often now, which is a good thing for all of us. Some of mom’s good friends at Ft. Benning threw us a surprise baby book shower this week. The other wives are so sweet, and thoughtful!
Week 12: Things seem to be going well around our busy little house. Dad started Airborne school this week, which he loves, I can’t wait for him to teach me about all his crazy Army adventures. Although that does mean we have some pretty early wake-ups mom doesn’t care for. Cooking, and eating seem to be happening a little more around our house, which is good for my sake! Although, my mom is still at -8 pounds since my big debut. Needless to say Zofran is still a hot commodity around here! In other news, mom and dad agree that I am “showing” myself now. Mom thinks she popped, though the general public wouldn’t be able to tell. My parents think I am the sweetest little Georgia peach around!
I love this!!!! Baby Darville is just precious!
